What is the JF011E?
The JF011E is a steel push-belt CVT made by JATCO for front- and all-wheel-drive cars with 2.0 to 2.5 L engines. It appeared in the mid-2000s and was used widely by Nissan, Mitsubishi and the Chrysler group until the larger JF016E / JF017E (CVT8) replaced it in most models.
Heat is its main enemy. Old or overheated fluid wears the pulley faces, belt and valve body, which shows up as whining, judder and slipping. An extra oil cooler helps on hot-climate and heavy-use vehicles, and the correct CVT fluid (Nissan NS-2 or the maker's equivalent) is essential.

JF011E questions
01Is the JF011E the same as the JF016E or JF015E?
No. The JF016E / JF017E (CVT8) is the larger successor and the JF015E (CVT7) is a smaller unit for engines up to about 1.8 L. Belts, pulleys and valve bodies do not interchange. Check the code on the transmission label.
02Can a whining JF011E be repaired?
Often, yes. If the noise comes from worn bearings or pulleys and the case is intact, a pulley set, belt and rebuild kit restore it. If there is heavy metal debris, a remanufactured assembly is usually the better buy.
03Is programming needed after replacing the valve body or TCM?
Yes. The TCM stores calibration data matched to the valve body. After replacing either one, write the data with a suitable scan tool (Nissan CONSULT or equivalent). Send us the numbers on both units and we advise.
04What is the minimum order and warranty?
One piece. Warranty depends on the part and condition and is written on your quotation.
