What is the DQ250?
The DQ250 was the first Volkswagen Group DSG, introduced in 2003. It has six speeds and two wet clutches and handles about 350 Nm, which made it the gearbox of choice for stronger TSI and TDI engines for over a decade.
The mechatronic unit sits inside the gearbox oil, so metal debris and dirty fluid damage its solenoids. Solenoid replacement is the most common repair; external filter and fluid changes every service interval prevent many failures.

FAQ
DQ250 questions
01Is the DQ250 the same as the DQ200?
No. The DQ250 (02E) is a 6-speed wet-clutch gearbox, the DQ200 (0AM/0CW) is a 7-speed dry-clutch gearbox. No mechatronic or clutch parts interchange.
02Can I replace only the solenoids?
Yes, if the TCU and valve body are healthy. Solenoid sets are the most common DQ250 repair. If the valve body is scored or the TCU has failed, choose a complete mechatronic unit.
03Is adaptation needed?
Yes. After mechatronic, solenoid or clutch work, run basic settings with ODIS or VCDS and change the fluid and filter.
04What is the minimum order and warranty?
One piece. Warranty depends on the part and condition and is written on your quotation.
